Good Morning - Click on the video below for our mornings worship together. Underneath the video you will find a short reflection from Andrew Holmes our local preacher this morning. Happy Mothers day - Have a blessed day x

Message from Local Preacher Andrew Holmes

We live in interesting times, I’m sure you will agree. I was originally going to use a theme relating to Mother’s Day which seemed appropriate however the enormity of the weeks events seemed to take over my thoughts. Then on Tuesday my son in law, Fred, posted something on various social media sites which was seen by Christians and non Christians.

What I find incredible is that six years ago, Fred was not a Christian, Jesus was completely irrelevant to him. He then moved to the south coast and found himself on an Alpha course because he was bored. He then met Jesus and his life was transformed; he is now involved in the youth ministry of our church, plays in the worship band and is a powerful preacher, all in 6 years.

This is what he posted for all to see :-

“So.. I was driving to work this morning and a bible passage came to my mind (yes bear with me I'm going to get biblical!) In Isaiah 40:6-7 it says this 'All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall.'

Later on in Isaiah 41:10 it says this 'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'

I dont know about you guys but this coronavirus outbreak is pretty intense and the first passage made me realise that we are all human and we are so easily panicked in difficult times. But I know that despite my lack of faith, God will uphold me because he is righteous.

I just wanted to share that with everyone this morning that whilst everything around us is weird and confusing, God is still in the business of upholding us and strengthening us if we look to him. “ 👊👊

Never underestimate the power of God to change lives and situations......need I say more. There is a song called “God you’re so good” that I listen to whenever the things of the world start to overwhelm and the words seem to last in my mind for the rest of the day or night; give it a try. https://youtu.be/7IIZIPtQuW8

God bless

Andy Holmes
