The Grangewood Sapphire
Community Project
The project, scheduled for summer 2012, involves internal rebuilding to provide a new wheel chair accessible toilet (the present one does not meet legal requirements in terms of size, access, location and fittings) together with two sets of male and female toilets and some changes to storage areas This will enable Sanctuary, Foyer and the Hall, each with some associated rooms, to be operated independently. At present the use of approximately half of the premises by a Pre-School on weekday mornings means that the other half cannot be used at all as safeguarding requirements preclude the sharing by the Pre-school of toilet facilities.
The new arrangement will permit simultaneous use of the premises by other groups, The net effect is to increase the daytime availability of space by over 50%.
