We meet
every other week on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.15 p.m. in the
Abbey Room. There are approximately 30 - 40 members of all ages and
denominations.
Meetings last about one and a half to two hours. This includes a talk
or
discussion, followed by a cup of tea and a chat and we pay £1
each time.
We have a variety of speakers, with talks ranging from travel, slides,
music,
devotional, quizzes, local history, organisations (e.g. Guide dogs); in
fact something for everyone.
Members bring and buy books and magazines at a very nominal price; this
provides a service and a little extra money in the funds.
Our secretary tries to arrange a couple of outings each year.
We do invite the gentlemen to join us on these occasions. Weather
permitting we finish the summer session with a garden party at the home
of our secretary.
In the New Year there is a lunch at Church followed by some form of
entertainment. We are a very caring, friendly group and welcome new
members.
